Fall Festivals & Events
For just over a month each fall, Bergey's Corn Maze opens to give visitors a chance to wind their way through the fields of maize. For $10 a person (children under 4 are free), spend a few hours on the farm enjoying wagon rides, a petting zoo, and tons of terrific photo opportunities. Pumpkins are available to complete your autumn adventure.
Gear up for Halloween with a bit of a fright and lots of fun. Get out to The Haunting at Greenbrier Farms. This annual tradition starts at the 100-year-old farmhouse and includes 5 consecutive haunt attractions.
If food is more your game, the Great American Food Fest is where you will want to be in October. This charity event is an all-inclusive event featuring the main meal of pork bbq, fried fish, grilled chicken, corn dogs, hush puppies and corn on the cob, beer trucks, PLUS a variety of amazing vendors showcasing some of their delicious sample size portion of foods for you to try. October also brings the Chesapeake Virginia Wine Festival. Listen to live music, eat great food, shop, attend seminars, drink some excellent wines and enjoy a beautiful afternoon at Chesapeake City Park.
Featuring more than 100 vendors, including a Kidz Korner complete with activities for the youngest guests, Chesapeake Jubilee Fall Craft Market is a great place to spend the day doing some holiday shopping, all while supporting local businesses.
Not done shopping? Spend your weekend at the Holiday Craft Show. Taking place at the Chesapeake Conference Center, you can purchase handmade decorations and one-of-a-kind gifts, from bedazzled hair ties to whittled walking sticks, all from crafters throughout the mid-Atlantic. Santa will be ready and waiting for toy-requests and photos.
