These musical ensembles perform for a variety of functions. Sample programs, repertoire lists, recent performance calendars, and references available upon request. Themed programs centered around holidays/specific musical styles are available for all ensembles. All groups cover Christmas/holiday music both sacred and secular.
“SECOND ENDING BRASS QUINTET” is comprised of two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba. This group often performs at patriotic ceremonies, Holiday happenings, children's concerts, graduations, grand openings, and liturgical celebrations. A variety of music is covered from Classical, Jazz, Blues, and Dixieland. A Brass Quartet or Brass Trio may also be available.
“STANDARD TIME”. This family of musical ensembles can perform with a minimum of one musician up to a full 17-piece Big Band. Popular configurations are as follows:
- “STANDARD TIME Soloist”. Ken Keller plays trombone, euphonium, and sings with musical accompaniment pre-recorded tracks. A variety of music is covered from Classical, Jazz, Blues, and songs by entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, Joe Williams, and Mel Torme.
- “STANDARD TIME Duo” is comprised of piano/guitar and vocalist also playing trombone. It covers diverse styles from Jazz, Latin, Blues & Classic Big Band vocals from the 1930s & 1940s in an intimate setting. Songs like "All of Me", "Pennies from Heaven" & "Satin Doll".
- “STANDARD TIME Trio” is comprised of piano/guitar + bass and vocalist also playing trombone. It covers diverse styles from Jazz, Latin, Blues & Classic Big Band vocals from the 1930s & 1940s. Examples include music by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra.
- “STANDARD TIME Quartet” is comprised of piano/guitar + bass + drums and vocalist also playing trombone. It covers diverse styles from Jazz, Latin, Blues & Classic Big Band vocals from the 1930s & 1940s. Examples include music by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra.
- “STANDARD TIME Quintet” is comprised of piano/guitar + bass + drums + trumpet/sax and vocalist playing trombone. It covers diverse styles from Jazz, Latin, Blues & Classic Big Band vocals from 1930s, 1940s & 1950s to include songs like "Night Train" and "Kansas City".
- “STANDARD TIME Jazztet” is a six-piece ensemble comprised of piano/guitar + bass + drums + trumpet + sax and vocalist also playing trombone. The musical focus is Classic Jazz & Big Band hits from the 1930s & 1940s. Also, instrumental Funky Blues & Soul of 1960s & 1970s.
- “STANDARD TIME Express” is a "mobile/strolling" 4 to 7-piece non-amplified Dixieland group. This group performs for Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday events and New Orleans style funerals. It covers Traditional New Orleans and Dixieland music from the 1920s & 1930s. Examples include "Hello Dolly", "When You’re Smiling" & "Bourbon Street Parade".
- “STANDARD TIME Big Band” is a seventeen-piece ensemble comprised of 4 rhythm section, 4 Trumpets, 4 Trombones, 5 Saxes. The musical focus is Big Band music of 1940s thru today performing music by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Gordon Goodwin.
“TIDEWATER TUBAS OOMPAH OKTOBERFEST BAND” is a quartet composed of two tubas, two euphoniums including vocals to some of the Oktoberfest Songs. We play a lot more than the typical bass line of a John Phillip Sousa March. Our Oktoberfest program presents many of the favorite songs that are associated with the Oktoberfest, such as “Ein Prosit”, “Beer Barrel Polka”, and the “Chicken Dance.”
"LATIN JAZZ CONSPIRACY” is composed of eight musicians performing Latin Jazz standards like Manteca-Dizzy Gillespie, Song for My Father-Horace Silver, and Caravan-Duke Ellington. Musical styles cover Salsa, Mambo, Bolero, Bossa Nova, Samba, and Cha-cha.
"CHESAPEAKE BONES" This four/five-piece trombone ensemble covers styles as diverse as classical music used for liturgical services to classic jazz. Examples include music by Bach, Bruckner, Handel, Haydn, Duke Ellington & Jerome Kern.
