Here in Chesapeake, there is no shortage of amazing cafes, each with a unique community and spin on coffee culture. Here are some local favorites to check out.
Gather Cafe offers an extensive selection of coffee classics brewed from the beans of carefully selected roaster. Gather offers teas, matcha, and smoothies on the beverage front as well as a cafe style menu with breakfast and lunch items. On top of their meticulous approach to coffee, Gather is completely non-profit, so every dollar you spend goes to helping the community.
Hickory Trading Coffee Bistro serves delicious, locally roasted single-origin coffee, grounded in a great cause: providing opportunities and support for special-needs families. In addition to coffee classics and specialty drinks, Hickory Trading offers traditional bistro fare like made-from-scratch crepes, paninis, craft beer, and wine. With a small shop showcasing artisan goods, Hickory Trading Coffee Bistro is the perfect place to escape from your busy day.
Veteran-owned and operated Pale Horse Coffee doesn't just take pride in seeking out fair trade beans, they also roast and infuse the beans in-house daily - guaranteeing some of the freshest coffee around. Stop by one of Pale Horse Coffee's two Chesapeake locations, in Great Bridge and Summit Pointe, to grab a cup of coffee to start your day, check out their patriotic-themed menu, pick up merchandise, and buy a bag of their signature, infused coffee beans to brew at home.

Taxus Street Coffee is a local coffee roaster with a cafe inside Big Ugly Brewing. While Taxus Street Coffee's menu mainly focuses on beverages, the company regularly partners with local food vendors to showcase a rotating selection of delicious bites ranging from doughnuts to burritos.
