Mike Beyrodt is the inventor of Pull Start Fire. He showcased his invention to a group taking an REI camping class at Northwest River Park and Campground. Pull Start Fire is a fire starter which starts a campfire with the pull of a string—in winds up to 200 miles per hour and can it even light wet wood. The crowd was skeptical at first, until a young camper pulled the string. Then, everyone gasped in amazement as the logs quickly went from unlit to a healthy campfire in a matter of seconds.
