NEW CHESAPEAKE EVENT VENUE FEATURES INNOVATIVE CEILING TECHNOLOGY
NOAH'S Event Venue will include a unique "movable ceiling" when it opens for events in 2017
CHESAPEAKE, Va. - September 14, 2016 - When NOAH'S Event Venue opens its doors in April of 2017, it will become Chesapeake's newest location for weddings, meetings, and social events. But that's not what people will be talking about.
The new wedding and event venue, which is currently under construction at 625 Independence Pkwy, will feature a unique technology that will allow decorations, lights, and lanterns to be hung above its largest banquet space without ever getting out a ladder. This revolutionary "movable ceiling" is the first of its kind in Chesapeake.
"It's a real game-changer for the industry," said Elizabeth Zollars, National Sales Director for Noah Corporation, the parent company of NOAH'S of Chesapeake. "Brides and wedding planners, in particular, are blown away when they see how easy it is to hang décor in the Main Hall."
The ceiling features a system of 66 "pick points" that can electronically lower down to the floor at the touch of a button. Each pick point is equipped with an electrical outlet as well as a loop from which lights, lanterns, chandeliers or drapery can be hung.
NOAH'S offers a handful of ceiling packages but customers can also pay $200 to utilize the technology and suspend their own decorations overhead. Two of the most popular packages, according to Zollars, are the Edison bulb ceiling and the spoke ceiling where white fabric is draped from the center of the room to the perimeter creating a tent-like effect.
"The movable ceiling is truly revolutionary and just another way that our clients can customize their event space," said Kirsten Mussi, Vice President of Public Relations for Noah Corporation. Mussi also mentioned the company's open vendor policy that allows customers to bring in their own vendors, including the caterer of their choice.
Noah Corporation is a national company with 30 event venues across the country. Each building is equipped with a state-of-the-art audiovisual system, free wireless internet, and hardwood floors. The Main Hall also includes hue lighting (where clients can select a custom mood lighting color for their event using an iPad) and an electric stage that rises out of the hardwood floor for a live band, DJ or presentation. All rentals include tables, chairs, and tablecloths as well.
Customers can rent out the entire 7,784-square-foot facility for their event or can rent any of the four rooms individually. The Chesapeake location has small and large conference rooms commonly used for birthday parties, weddings, and corporate events for up to 300 people. There is also a Game Room that features a pool table, shuffleboard table, ping pong table and a high-definition television and projector. The facility also houses a Bride's Room, catering prep kitchen, and an outdoor patio.
"NOAH'S is the first national event venue of its kind and we're very excited about our newest location in Chesapeake, our first in Virginia," said Nicholas Redd, Chief Operating Officer for Noah Corporation. "We continue to push the envelope and develop innovative new technology in our buildings. We're not really interested in doing things the way that they've always been done in the wedding industry... that's just not our style."
Noah Corporation was founded in 2003 by William Bowser. The first NOAH'S facility opened in Utah in January of 2007 and as of September 2016, there are 30 open NOAH'S locations across the country with an additional six locations under construction in 2016. NOAH'S hosts more than 8,000 events per year nationwide.
