Chesapeake Jubilee

Chesapeake Jubilee fireworksKick off each summer at the annual Chesapeake Jubilee. The Jubilee offers one of the largest varieties of carnival rides and games east of the Mississippi! Renowned for its shrimp feast, 4-H livestock sale, crafts and a KCBS-certified BBQ competition, this event offers fun for everyone! This year's event will take place May 20 - 23, 2010.

The event annually welcomes national acts. This year's acts include:

Steel Pulse, performing Friday, May 21 at 8 p.m.
A Jamaican-influenced band from England, Steel Pulse blends a touch of Latin and jazz influence with impressive stage theatrics and biting social commentary. Their energetic sound earned them a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album of the Year.

Tonic, performing Saturday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m.
With six Top 10 singles, more than 4 million records sold, numerous awards and hit songs around the world, Tonic is a musical powerhouse. Tonic will rock the Jubilee Saturday night, performing their monster hits "If You Could Only See," "Open Up Your Eyes," and "Take Me As I Am."

Rodney Atkins, performing Sunday, May 23 at 4 p.m.
Come see why concert audiences all over the country are cheering Rodney Atkins and singing along. This rising country superstar has a rare gift for reflecting the lives of his listeners in his music, with chart-topping hits such as "These Are My People," "Watching You," and "If You're Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows)."

The Chesapeake Jubliee began as a 20th birthday celebration for the city in 1983. The 4-H livestock show, sale and fireworks have always been a part of the celebration. To see the full schedule of events and for more information, visit http://chesapeakejubilee.org/.
