Jamie Mitchell honored by the Society of Government Meeting Professionals-Old Dominion Chapter
Jamie Mitchell, CMP, sales manager for Chesapeake Conventions & Tourism, was honored with the 2009-2010 President's Award from the Society of Government Meeting Professionals-Old Dominion Chapter (SGMP). Mitchell received the award during the organization's annual chapter banquet for her outstanding service to the chapter.

Susan Drewery will act as the new sales manager for Chesapeake Conventions and Tourism
Chesapeake Conventions and Tourism recently welcomed Susan Drewery as the newest member of their sales team. Drewery joined CCT as a sales manager to help bring group travel and tourism visitors into the Chesapeake area. At CCT, Drewery will help to promote Chesapeake as a go-to city for group travel tours and military, family and fraternal reunions.

Gateway to Savings program offers credit rebates for meetings booked in Chesapeake
In this time of economic adversity, the city of Chesapeake, Va., understands that businesses are more conscious than ever about their travel expenses. To help make meeting travel and accommodations a bit easier on the wallet, Chesapeake Conventions and Tourism is offering meeting planners and businesses their own stimulus packages in the form of the new Gateway to Savings program, which offers a credit of up to $3,000 toward any meeting or convention booked in Chesapeake through December 31, 2009.
