The impressive Grand Entry captures the spirit of the festival as Native Americans enter in full regalia. The Grand Entry will take place at noon on Saturday and 1 PM on Sunday. The essence of the Native American culture is also revealed in the Pow-Wow, where dancers move gracefully to the beat of the drum. This is an educational family event featuring traditional dancing and drumming, American Indian food, demonstrations, native jewelry, and crafts for purchase. The event also features children's activities.
The festival is presented by the Nansemond Indian Tribal Association and by Chesapeake Parks & Recreation.
